ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Test Automation Engineer will have the exciting opportunity to join our Cerberus or DarkIQ teams to build new and extend existing test automation frameworks. This person will report directly to the QA Manager.

We're looking for someone with experience creating automation frameworks from scratch for UI and API tests, for SaaS based products ideally. The role is crucial in ensuring that we reach and maintain sufficient test automation coverage across UI, API and non-functional testing.

Please note, candidates should be located in the UK, and to be able to live and work in the UK without restriction.

WHAT WILL I DO?

• Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery
• Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products
• Communicates quality standards and parameters to the team and other appropriate staff
• Coordinates product testing processes
• Participates in manual product testing, develops automated testing and is able to develop further tooling as per the testing pyramid
• You'll own the automated testing capability for one of our products, and support across the function as needed
• Ensure that performance and scalability is an integral component of all test strategies and project plans
• Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues
• Work closely with our security function to ensure that company security policies are adhered to
• Reviews client, customer, and user feedback

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Experience creating automation frameworks from scratch using Javascript or Typescript, ideally using Cypress or Playwright
• Previous experience in maintaining a QA provision to support SaaS products.
• Exceptional communication skills - able to translate technical issues and concepts for potentially non technical stakeholders
• Experience in building provision would be advantageous, whoever the role would also suit someone that has held a senior QA position for some time and is now looking for the next step in their career
• A history of becoming embedded in both product and software development teams, becoming a trusted advisor on all things QA
• Our applications are built using Python, PHP, Laravel and Vue; experience testing this technology stack would be beneficial
• Knowledge of Agile and commercial development processes
• Experience of developing and creating automated testing procedures and CI/CD would be advantageous
• Demonstrate a security-first approach
• No certifications are required for this role, however a certification such as ISTQB or similar would be beneficial
