Job overview
We are looking for an ambitious Production Manager to lead our Aseptic Services Team at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering life changing treatments, ensuring the highest quality standards in sterile manufacturing, and shaping the future of aseptic services.
As the Production Manager, you will take overall responsibility for MHRA-licensed aseptic manufacturing units, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, national regulations, and patient safety protocols. You will lead a dedicated team, driving service innovation and operational excellence while managing external contracts, budgets, and performance targets. Your expertise will help train and develop staff, oversee production planning, and ensure that all processes meet the highest quality and safety standards.
We are looking for an inspirational leader with an MSc in Pharmacy or a related scientific degree and extensive experience in GMP within NHS or pharmaceutical sterile manufacturing. You must have strong leadership, problem solving, and strategic planning skills, with a passion for developing teams and improving patient care. Experience in regulatory compliance, service transformation, and staff training is essential.

Main duties of the job
- Lead the MHRA-licensed aseptic manufacturing units, ensuring full compliance with GMP, national regulations, and patient safety protocols.
- Oversee aseptic production operations, managing staff, workflows, and ensuring medicines are produced safely and efficiently.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for service improvement, ensuring aseptic services align with the Trust's long-term goals.
- Manage training and staff development, ensuring all team members are skilled in aseptic techniques and quality standards.
- Oversee financial and operational performance, managing budgets, contracts, and resources to maximise efficiency and service quality.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MSc in pharmacy or related scientific degree, OR post graduate diploma in Technical Pharmacy or equivalent qualification and experience
- AND Extensive experience in GMP within an NHS or pharmaceutical industry sterile facility
Desirable criteria
- Advanced interpersonal skills
- Registration with professional body
Experience / Skills/Knowledge/
Essential criteria
- Detailed working knowledge of NHS and Pharmacy practices, policies and procedures.
- Effective computer / IT knowledge and skills.
- Ability to influence team members and healthcare staff (e.g. General practitioners & District Nurses)
- Responsible for own Continuing Professional Development
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Good attention to detail
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of health service culture.
- Knowledge of the National Aseptic Review
- Experience of the CMM pharmacy computer system and QPULSE
