About the Role

As Production Manager you will play a pivotal role in supporting our students as they create short and longer film productions, integral to their learning experience. Your expertise in production management will ensure that all film projects run smoothly, safely, and meet the high standards of our curriculum.

What You'll Do:

• Lead Production Management: Oversee all aspects of production management, ensuring smooth operations for student film productions, both in studio and on location. Ensure adherence to safe systems of practice.

• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the Head of School and Course Teams to meet the educational needs of students.

• Plan and Communicate: Develop and implement production schedules and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

• Health & Safety: Lead on Risk Assessment reports and Health & Safety requirements, providing support and advice for staff and students.

• Budget Management: Monitor and effectively manage student-allocated production budgets.

• Training Delivery: Collaborate with the Head of Production to deliver training on Production and Post Production Logistics, and specialist topics such as Working with Children and Working with Animals.

• Technical Coordination: Liaise with the technical team for studio and equipment bookings to meet student production needs.

• Industry Liaison: Consult with industry bodies to ensure compliance with licensing, codes of practice, and best practices.

• Sustainability Initiatives: Implement sustainability initiatives, including BAFTA Albert, in collaboration with course teams.

• Equity and Inclusion: Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in all production activities, taking proactive measures to increase access and participation.

• Marketing Collaboration: Work with Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions to ensure production activities are effectively reflected in promotional materials.

What You'll Bring:

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in managing productions across various contexts.

• Proven experience ensuring organisational policies and health and safety standards are consistently applied in studio and on location.

• Demonstrated ability to organise schedules, risk assessments, and technical information for productions.

• Practical knowledge of pre-production, production, and post-production processes, with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust plans as needed.

• Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
