Job Description

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all manufacturing operations are run effectively and efficiently to meet business and customer expectations through on time in full delivery of products in accordance with EHS and quality policies and procedures;
  • Manage the manufacturing departmental resources and assets ensuring repeat clinical and commercial cGMP product manufacture are manufactured in compliance with cGMP;
  • Provide guidance to Sales and Operations Planning on the scheduling and duration of manufacturing campaigns;
  • Conduct Manufacturing related near-miss, accident and incident investigations as appropriate;
  • Ensure availability of Manufacturing resource to meet the production plan;
  • Providing daily progress updates against plan to ensure that Manufacturing support services are co-ordinated appropriately;
  • Ensure investigation and root cause analyses for batch failure and critical process related deviations are completed according to agreed timelines and cGMP guidelines;
  • Through effective goal setting, motivate the Manufacturing team to achieve high standards and work towards company goals;
  • Management of manufacturing staff including performance management and feedback, motivation and training;
  • Monitor appropriate department performance measures, i.e. yield, schedule adherence, deviations raised, and documentation turnaround, identifying areas for improvement;
  • In collaboration with Learning & Development, define appropriate development plans for the Manufacturing team to ensure competency to meet future business needs;
  • Partake in staff recruitment interviews and selection processes for the Manufacturing department;
  • Effectively communicate within area of responsibility and across Business Partners and Service Providers;
  • Support continuous improvement activities within Manufacturing.
  • Complete ad hoc requests as requested by the business.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree or higher qualification in Scientific or Engineering discipline

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 5 years management experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, preferably in ADC manufacture.
  • Experience of implementing change using change control principals.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Understand the requirements of GMP manufacturing within a regulated industry and the associated system.
  • Have a general understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of risk management systems and procedures.
