We are looking for
Lloyd's Register One Ocean (LROO) is seeking a Mid/Senior-Level Software Product Manager to take responsibility for the key portions of the LROO Navigation & Compliance portfolio related to vessel voyage operations, including both onboard and onshore software and contribute to the product strategy and roadmap.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who has a successful track record in managing software products and services in an agile software development environment. You will support our strategic product roadmaps by evaluating market opportunities, analyzing customers and partners' needs and studying industry trends to identify and prioritize strategic developments and partners.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the maritime industry and delivering software products and services that exceed the customers' expectations.
The Role
- Contribute to the product strategy and roadmap
- Analyze market requirements and business opportunities in target markets
- Build business plans for products and major enhancements including opportunity assessment, positioning strategy, and financial analysis, and conduct these through our Product Lifecycle Management process.
- Conduct competitive product analysis and market research
- Gather customer/prospect feedback to measure effectiveness of marketing efforts and predict future market conditions and potential as well as drive Voice of the Customer back into our product roadmaps
- Assess partnership opportunities including third party programs
- Engage with clients and translate their business needs into functional and non-functional requirements
- Create effective user stories that enable engineering and design to ship products deliver value to our customers
- Work with designers, developers, and subject matter experts to effectively and efficiently scope, design, and build features
- Train sales teams and support selling activities, including development of sales tools and collateral.
- Participate in functional testing and internally advocate for product quality
- Work with the latest technology and approaches
What you bring
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in Digital Product Management with a track record of creating and managing innovative products and services
- In-depth understanding of technology and software product development
- Strong analytical capability and comfort with data analysis and reporting tools
- Ability to work independently
- Proven ability to understand and appreciate commercial, functional, and technical perspectives
- Experience with Navigation, Compliance and/or Technical operations within a commercial shipping company and/or direct service to shipping companies
Preferred but not required:
- Preferable experience onboard, engaged in navigation and related compliance activities
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- People management experience
