About the role
A Product Manager at the Equals Group is a driven and analytical thinker dedicated to producing cutting edge work. Our Product Managers look for responsibility, are curious problem solvers and can work with a range of stakeholders internally and externally.
We are looking for a Product Manager to join and lead on our identity and security products, driving the direction and development of identity, authorisation, security and onboarding for Equals Money. As a Product Manager for this product area, you'll define product strategy alongside the product and engineering leadership, manage product requirements and will work closely with engineering, design and GTM teams to ensure successful product releases to our customers. You will have worked with Auth0/Okta or similar tools as well as financial services KYC (know-your-customer) providers in your previous roles, and you are excited about the new trends and developments in the identity and security space.
About you

Responsibilities
- Define strategy and drive execution for Equals Group's identity, security and onboarding products including sign-up, log-in, SSO, MFA, authentication, sessions through the group's new identity partner, Auth0/Okta.
- Establish a shared vision for our identity and security products by building consensus on priorities, leading to product execution.
- Use best practises in identity, security and onboarding to develop the journey from businesses registering interest with Equals Money to becoming a authenticated customers. A successful candidate will be able to deploy their own experience and use market/customer feedback to shape best-in-market experiences for our customers.
- Partner with Design, Engineering and Sales teams to develop new products and enhance existing ones that deliver significant value to the business.
- Work closely with our Data function to define metrics, track adoption and usage, identity gaps and vulnerability and make data-informed decisions.
- Work with our commercial leaders to identity opportunities to accelerate our business, such as integrating with technical partners, acquisition of new technologies and building on existing solutions.
- Work closely with an Engineering team lead on the day-to-day execution of planning, scoping and delivery.
Accountabilities
- Drive the strategy and execution of the group's identity and security products, alongside the Product and Engineering leadership group and the wider product function.
- Ensure Equals Group's current and future customers are benefiting from market leading identity and security solutions.
- Educate the wider product, engineering and quality function on identity and security best practices and ensure new features delivered by other teams are utilising your knowledge and expertise.
- Develop an understanding of payment technologies, regulatory requirements and industry trends.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with 1+ years managing identity and security products. Experience managing identity products such as Single Sign On, Multi-factor Authentication, Passwordless login etc.
- Proven track record of cross-functional leadership: Ability to work closely with executives and teams across engineering, data, design, marketing and sales to deliver strategic product outcomes.
- Strong technical foundations: Demonstrated ability to work closely with technical vendors and engineers to make and help guide strategic decisions with a high level of technical understanding.
- Experience delivering initiatives from conception through to GTM, proving value at each stage of the product development lifecycle.
- Exceptional communication and influence skills: Ability to clearly articulate a strategy, as well as communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven experience in presenting to senior leadership and large teams.
- Experience working with customers and external stakeholders. Strong ability to engage with customers, partners (Auth0/Okta plus others), regulatory bodies and others to gather feedback, understand market needs and ensure alignment between our product offering and market demand.
- Data-driven decision making: Expertise in leveraging analytics and data to identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives and validate product decisions. Familiarity with data sets related to identity, identity verification and security is a plus.

Desirable Skills
- Experience implementing Auth0/OKTA and its various features in a fast-paced environment.
- An interest and a willingness to continue learning about identity, identity verification, security and customer onboarding. And an interest in teaching others.
- Experience as a Product Manager working in a bank, payment solutions business and/or an FCA-regulated environment.
- Technical appreciation of software development, APIs and product architecture, ideally having worked on an API product or a product with strong API or platform focus.
- Familiarity with tools like Notion (our main ticketing/documentation tool), Figma and Postman.

Our product team has a hybrid-working model, but we like our PMs to be in the office 3+ days per week.
