Product Manager (Card Issuing)

As part of payabl.'s Banking Domain, you will take full ownership of the Card Issuing Programme, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional card solutions. This role is integral to expanding our product lineup, including launching virtual and physical cards, enabling seamless day-to-day banking, setting up custom limits, and facilitating various use cases such as employee benefits and ATM withdrawals.
You'll be responsible for leading a dedicated squad focused on the web aspect, collaborating with both internal teams (senior PM, back-end, and front-end engineers) and an external partner managing the mobile side.
This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to drive product initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring that our card products are both scalable and aligned with customer needs.
What You'll Do:
- Own the end-to-end delivery of the Card Issuing Programme from a product standpoint, working independently to drive initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with Engineering squads and key stakeholders (Marketing, AML, Sales, Banking) to align priorities and deliverables.
- Identify opportunities in new regions and implement card programs tailored to specific market needs.
- Conduct market research and discoveries to keep payabl. ahead of the curve.
- Solve stakeholder problems by developing scalable solutions that drive value.
- Develop and manage the product roadmap based on stakeholder communication and business needs.
- Use data to set goals, track metrics, and support decision-making.
- Ensure seamless data flow between your product, the core banking platform, and internal tools.
- Continuously evaluate and propose opportunities backed by data to enhance our product offerings.
- Lead your team effectively, delivering on expectations and ensuring transparency across the organization.
What Success Looks Like:
- 3 months: Fully integrated into the team, established relationships with stakeholders, and begun executing key initiatives. By month three, you are expected to be executing key initiatives, collaborating seamlessly with the Engineering and Banking teams to bring the product vision to life.
- 6 months: Delivered key milestones, launched new regions, and implemented multi-currency capabilities.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, ideally in roles like Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Technical Product Owner, preferably in card issuing and payment solutions within major players in the fintech or banking industry.
- Proven track record of managing end-to-end product delivery, with a strong focus on card schemes, regulatory compliance, and multi-region product launches.
- Hands-on experience collaborating closely with Engineering and IT teams to manage deliverables and ensure seamless integration across platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management skills: Proven ability to build relationships and align priorities with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, AML, Sales, and Banking.
- Leadership experience: Comfortable with hiring, managing, and leading a dedicated squad to execute on the product roadmap.
- Analytical mindset: Skilled at leveraging data for product decision-making, performance tracking, and optimization.
- Experience in user experience (UX) design and a product-UX mindset, ensuring that product enhancements align with customer needs.
- Tools: Proficient with industry-standard tools like Jira, Miro, Figma, and Atlassian products for project management, collaboration, and design.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Lean Product Development, and Design Thinking principles to drive product innovation.
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role is an advantage.

Hiring Process:
1 First Interview: Conducted by the Talent Acquisition team (30-40 min).
2 Second Interview: 1-hour deep dive with the Product Lead.
3 Take-Home Assignment: Complete a mini project relevant to the role (7 business days deadline).
4 Final Behavioral Interview: Focused on team fit, with participation from the Group CTO and a Product Expert (1-1.5 hours).
