Product Manager (8-months Contract)

R3 is seeking a product manager to join their Digital Currencies team to help us build a highly scalable retail CBDC product to launch to market. R3's Digital Currencies team comprises innovative problem-solvers and strategic, fast-moving team members collaborating with customers to solve challenges and build solutions leveraging R3's flagship DLT technology Corda.

As part of the Product team, you will help to drive successful customer outcomes by defining and delivering end-to-end customer solutions, including and not limited to design, build & deployment phases, working closely with our Product Owner and engineering teams at each step.

Responsibilities:

    • Define and lead the product vision and strategy, investigating market demand, customer needs and pains, barriers to adoption, business opportunities and competitive advantage.
    • Build upon your expert knowledge of the retail industry, competitors' product offerings and identify market opportunities and gaps in the R3 offerings to ensure that your product remain competitive and differentiated.
    • Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of products.
    • Following agile principles, define, prioritise and manage the product backlog, collaborating with the Product Owner and Solution Architects within organisation to accurately articulate product, customer requirements, co-ordinate releases necessary to win in this market.
    • Be the key representative of your products to sales, customers and the market, leading engagements with current and prospective customers and partners, R3 field teams, industry analysts, etc. to gather and utilise feedback to iteratively re-align your strategy and roadmap.
    • Brings new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return-on-investment analyses, and establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
    • Completes operational requirements and meets product development deadlines by scheduling and assigning employees, and following up on work results, including quality control and testing.
    • Identifies and manages new and existing product partnerships.

Key Skills and Competencies:

    • User-centric focus: Committed to creating products that solve user problems and provide a great experience on mobile and desktop.
    • Strategic thinking: Ability to plan and execute long-term product strategies that meet business goals and user needs.
    • Data analysis: Skilful in understanding product data and user feedback to make informed decisions and improve products.
    • Clear communication: Strong communication skills at all levels of the organisation (including c-suite) to work well with different teams, explain ideas and write effective project briefs.
    • Proactive and flexible: Takes initiative, adapts to change, and works effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

    • Experience 3+ years in a product manager role.
    • Essential: deep understanding and experience working across the retail payments.
    • Essential: understanding of payments regulatory landscape.
    • Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset.
    • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Passion for DLT/Blockchain technologies and benefits, although previous experience is not expected.
