Role Introduction
We are looking for a driven and experienced Product Manager with a strong background in healthcare technology to join our team. You will take ownership of a key product-Virtual Smartcard, supporting our NHS Identity & Security offering. This role will also provide interim cover for our Social Care product Care Business Management for three months. In this role, you will balance hands-on product management tasks, such as writing user stories and shaping product backlogs, with strategic responsibilities like long-term roadmap planning and market positioning.
As the bridge between stakeholders, development teams, and customers, your work will directly impact the efficiency and security of healthcare processes across the UK. You will be instrumental in feeding into and implementing product vision, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring our solutions remain at the cutting edge of healthcare technology and compliance requirements.
This role will require a mix of business & product management know-how as well as a strong drive to understand the wider Advanced Product set and their target markets, in order to deliver innovative platform solutions. This role will be remote/home-based.
What You Will Do
- Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap for Virtual Smartcard and Care Business Management.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities and ensure product-market fit.
- Define clear success metrics and KPIs, aligning them with broader organisational goals.
- Stakeholder Management
- Engage with internal teams (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing and Customer Support) to gather input and relay customer requirements.
- Build and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, regulatory bodies, and strategic partners.
- Present product updates, business cases, and roadmap progress to senior leadership and key customers.
- Agile Product Development
- Author, refine, and prioritise user stories to ensure development work aligns with strategic objectives and user needs.
- Work closely with Senior Product Owners and development teams to plan sprints, manage backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of features.
- Work closely with the UX/UI team to facilitate user feedback loops and iterate on requirements based on real-world usage and stakeholder insights.
- Healthcare Compliance & Domain Expertise
- Understand healthcare-specific regulations (e.g. NHS requirements, UK data privacy laws, information governance).
- Ensure all product decisions respect regulatory frameworks and uphold the highest standards of data security and patient confidentiality.
- User-Centric Approach
- In conjunction with the UX/UI teams conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to validate features and gather insights.
- Use findings and data insights to refine user stories, product designs, and long-term feature plans.
- Advocate a user-first mindset across cross-functional teams.
- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable product strategies and clear roadmaps.
- Identify and manage product dependencies, risks, and opportunities for scaling the solution.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams to create compelling product value propositions and go-to-market plans.
What You Will Have
- Experience: 4+ years of Product Management experience with a proven track record of end-to-end product delivery; healthcare sector experience is essential.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with NHS frameworks and relevant UK health and/or social care policies is desirable.
- Product Management Tools: Proficiency with modern product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Pendo, Aha!) and agile methodologies (Scrum).
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable discussing technical details with engineering teams, understanding APIs, data integrations, and security best practices.
- Analytical Skills: Strong capability to interpret data and metrics to shape product decisions, ensuring the product roadmap aligns with measurable outcomes.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Translate complex technical information into easily digestible formats for discussion with the wider stakeholders with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Leadership & Ownership: Self-starter who takes full ownership of product performance, inspires teams, and drives results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic Mindset: Able to see the big picture, conceptualise market trends, and develop products that address both current and future healthcare needs.
