Product Manager

We are seeking a Product Manager to join the Product Management team to work on Cirata Data Migrator. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales and customer success, to ensure product success from conception through to launch and beyond. Your role will involve close collaboration on our product vision, strategy and delivery of the roadmap; delivering growth and ensuring we put our customers' needs first.

The role comprises both product owner and product manager activities - inputting into the product direction and working with engineering teams on resourcing and detailed requirements to ensure the delivery of that direction. You will input into the product vision and strategy by analysing the market and competitors and engaging with customers to understand their pain points, as well as supporting the engineering team by gathering requirements, creating user stories, and prioritising the product backlog.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Focus
    • Understand customer needs and pain points through direct interactions, surveys and feedback.
    • Define product requirements for solutions that address customers requirements and problems.
    • Analyse customer data and usage patterns to drive product improvements and innovations.
    • Ensure product solutions effectively address customer requirements and deliver value within Cirata Data Migrator.
  • Product Planning
    • Collaborate with the Director of Product Management to understand and communicate the product vision and strategy aligned with Cirata's company goals.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs and market opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the Product Management team to maintain a product roadmap that outlines key features, releases, and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to determine requirements, set expectations and manage product delivery.
    • Deliver presentations on product direction and planning as required to customers and partners.
    • Communicate product vision, progress and changes to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Product Launch and Marketing
    • Collaborate with the Director of Product Management / CTO on go-to-market strategies and plans ahead of product launches.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to create product messaging, positioning, and promotional materials.
    • Support sales / customer success teams with product training, demos, and collateral to drive adoption and success.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Monitor product performance using key metrics and KPIs.
    • Analyse product data to measure success, identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
    • Implement feedback loops to continuously enhance product features and user experience.
  • Agile / Scrum / Project management:
    • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements.
    • Prioritise and plan work for development groups
    • Create and manage work item alongside scrum masters to detail plans and schedules
    • Identify and mitigate risks.
    • Communicate status to stakeholders effectively.

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills:
    • Analyse complex problems and identify solutions.
    • Make sound decisions based on technical expertise and business needs.
    • Be responsive, adaptable and able to pivot when needed.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and analytical skills:
    • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with all levels of the organisation, both technical and non-technical.
    • Experienced in collaborating with other teams, such as engineering, design, customer success, UAT.
  • Continuous process improvement and growth mindset
    • Establish and refine product management processes and best practices.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the product team and across departments.
  • Solid technical background with hands on experience with software development
  • Knowledge in Hadoop and/or Cloud systems and applications preferable
  • Passionate about continually improving and innovating current products
  • Ability to split stories to deliver in small increments
  • Experience with technical and public documentation
  • Ability to refine and prioritise work according to business values and the needs of the Engineering team
  • Experience with Java is a plus
  • Product owner or manager qualification a desirable
  • High energy and ownership, proactive with ability to learn new domains to get the job done.
