About the role

An exciting new role has been created for a passionate MarTech Product Owner to join our dynamic Product & Platform team at Matalan. With over 35 years established customer loyalty, this role is a unique opportunity to provide Product Ownership of the entire MarTech lifecycle at Matalan. In this role, you will have the opportunity to own the strategy, transformation and operations of the tools and technologies used to engage our valued customer base. This role sits within the wider Product & Platform team, working alongside a skilled set of people of deliver true value to the business.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Develop and own the MarTech product strategy including creation and prioritisation of product backlogs.
  • Lead on decision making and giving Executive level recommendations on MarTech strategy and product selection.
  • Analyse wider strategic business objectives and translate them into a clear MarTech roadmap.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Transformation and IT to ensure successful business wide delivery.
  • Run RFI/RFP processes alongside procurement to identify and onboard best in class vendors.
  • Provide technical steer on solutions to ensure MarTech solutions are seamlessly integrated into existing systems with high data accuracy and consistency.
  • Work closely with Commercial Finance to generate a view of existing MarTech costs and creating forecasting models to understand the impact of changes.
  • Balance between internal and external customers to ensure changes adds business value.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve MarTech workflows to optimise efficiencies in marketing operations.
  • Actively participate in industry events, conferences and broader MarTech communities to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Grow and mentor a team to support with delivery of the ever-evolving MarTech Products & Platforms.

About You

  • Be a strategic thinker with a proven track record MarTech.
  • Have a good technical understanding of system integrations and how information moves between platforms in a software stack.
  • Hold an interest in experimentation and learning to measure the impacts of changes.
  • Understand concepts around data pipelines and data integrity
  • Be passionate about customer engagement.
  • Consider customer data protection and have a good knowledge of regulations around managing PII.
  • Have a good knowledge of the MarTech landscape including CRM platforms and CDPs
  • Poses a solid understanding of relevant MarTech KPIs such as CAC and CLTV
