The role

The Producer, Social Marketing manages campaigns, content creation and publishing across multiple social platforms targeting consumer and B2B audiences. Working closely with the VP of Social Marketing and different labels within ITV Studios as well as with ITV and other broadcasters where necessary, this role aims to deliver optimal audience engagement and ROI across organic social activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintains a calendar of social media activity for @itvstudios channels and programme brands & campaigns, working with labels and Studios marketing teams to represent the brand on social media.

Helps to deliver the social strategy for the @itvstudios channel and plans for assigned shows social channels. Working with the VP of Social Marketing to help drive engagement, reach, awareness and performance social marketing.

  • Creates content for social channels - including scripting/copywriting, shooting and editing. Engages with B2B responses in particular in the Studios tone of voice, further driving reputation and reach.
  • Liaises with Production teams, Studios Marketing, brand licensing and various broadcasters Marketing teams to coordinate show social media activity.

Works with the VP of Social Media to deliver the best use of paid social to hit KPIs

  • Manages strict timelines and feedback across the life cycle of campaigns
  • Ensures all content is of the highest possible quality, taking ownership of output and providing regular feedback to other producers and commercial account teams.
  • Takes responsibility for checking legal documentation associated with a project as required including copyright and music clearance
  • Works with the data and analytics team to produce meaningful reports shared across key stakeholders with recommendations and learnings for future work.
  • Works with presenters and talent - inspiring and encouraging them to support the digital ambitions of each show.
  • Takes on a role of social media expert for assigned campaigns, offering advice, feedback and ideas to innovate and increase reach, revenue or viewer relationships.
  • Assumes a strong breaking news and journalistic mentality with excellent editorial judgement where relevant in genre.

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

  • Excellent editorial judgement of marketing and how organic and paid social media fits into the ecosystem
  • An understanding of the TV production world and able to give clear feedback to TV teams on what's needed and what is desirable.
  • Has relevant digital content creation experience - including making social content such as copywriting, graphics and video production
  • Excellent understanding of the rights, talent, advertising and legal issues that surround social media campaigns
  • Excellent understanding of different social media platforms and how to optimise for each one
  • Previous experience of a Digital Production role for a media owner is preferred, though experience in Digital Marketing in house would be acceptable
  • Demonstrable experience of managing creative social media campaigns
  • Experience of interpreting briefs and presenting results

  • A can-do, get things done approach with ability to prioritise different business objectives
  • A genuine passion for ITV Studios programmes
  • Flexible, organised and able to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances and locations that occur within a production.
  • Good with data and numbers
  • Experience with contentious and breaking news challenges where relevant within genre
