Job Title: Procurement Professional

Location: Preston or Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £26,000+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide support to the Operational Procurement team by processing requisitions promptly and efficiently
• Manage outstanding debts and deliver regular reports, holding meetings and collaborating with various departments, stakeholders, and suppliers
• Update the master data list of suppliers on the relevant purchasing platform
• Assist IPS colleagues with Request for Quotes or address queries as needed
• Contribute to the team’s performance metrics and dashboards
• Support sponsors and stakeholders in driving automation, collaborating with business units and category leads to implement technical solutions using Coupa or SAP/Oracle, while providing reports and insights to track performance and identify key focus areas
• Propose and implement actions for continuous improvement
• Ensure all procurement transactions comply with BAE Systems policies, procedures, and relevant government legislation

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Knowledge of the Requisition to Order process
• Previous procurement administration or buying experience
• High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite

Desirable

• Experience with Coupa, SAP, Oracle, or other Source to Pay and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

The Procurement Team:

The Procurement Operations team within our Shared Services business is a newly formed team, responsible for executing indirect procurement transactions and purchase order placement across UK lines of business. This role offers the opportunity to directly support the business while identifying opportunities to enhance our procurement offering and strive towards becoming best in class. It’s an exciting time to join as the procurement team undergoes transformation, with plans to establish and grow the team’s capabilities.

As part of the Shared Services team, you will be at the heart of this initiative, working closely with our air, maritime, land, and cyber and intelligence businesses to support our customers worldwide.
