The Procurement and Supply Chain New Product Introduction Manager will play a critical role in driving the successful launch of new products within our organisation. This individual will be responsible for leading the definition of the externally supplied goods procurement and supply chain strategies for new product introductions, delivering high performing external supply chain that meet the full requirements of the business. They will coordinate with various stakeholders to achieve efficient and effective execution of Procurement and Supply Chain deliverables, ensuring seamless integration into our operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in procurement, supply chain management, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

Strategy & Business Requirements

  • Co-ordinate the capture and definition of business requirements for procurement and supply chain, collaborating closely with Engineering, Product management, Manufacturing and the wider Procurement and Supply Chain teams
  • Lead the definition and agreement of externally supplied goods procurement and supply chain strategies for NPDs and oversee their implementation.

Project Execution

  • Work as part of the cross-functional Project team as primary representative of Procurement and Supply Chain, ensuring the effective and efficient engagement of Procurement and Supply chain capabilities
  • Co-ordinate and, where appropriate, lead all procurement and supply chain activities, from sourcing and tendering, supplier assessment and qualification through to production ramp-up, ensuring achievement of the agreed milestones and targets (for the project and resulting product across areas including Safety/Compliance, Quality, Delivery and Cost).

Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a focus on new product introductions. Accreditation to MCIPS and / or ASCM desirable
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft D365.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electronic spend categories, industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and market trends in procurement and supply chain management.
