Procurement Manager and Procurement Apprentice
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Welcome to an exciting new era of opportunity and progression. Our council is carving its own path and forging a newer, brighter future. A future centred around better outcomes for our businesses and residents, better growth in our local economy, and a better place to be. And that's where you come in.
We are searching for two new roles in Procurement. The Procurement Manager will be our subject matter expert, to operate at the strategic level, providing leadership in fostering mutually beneficial relationships between the council and its suppliers, as well as the operational skills to deliver a robust, responsive procurement service that facilitates value for money in purchasing services, works and goods.
Your exceptional commercial acumen and procurement experience will be instrumental in helping us deliver our corporate objectives. Your ability to manage partnerships internally, forge relationships and negotiate positive outcomes with external supplier will be pivotal to delivering outstanding results.
We are also looking for a Procurement Apprentice, a motivated individual who wants to develop their knowledge and skills whilst introducing fresh and new ideas to the Council. In return we will provide the opportunity to gain the valuable CIPS qualification and a structured career path.
As the Council returns to directly delivering Procurement service in-house, both roles will be key to ensuring the comprehensive take-up of effective new ways for working, facilitating a culture of compliance with the new procurement regulations, partnered with a flexible, innovative approach to enhance the quality of service provision. Your approach to service delivery will ensure efficiency in the purchasing process and the introduction of effective contract management.
