Location - Newcastle, Edinburgh or Glasgow. Permanent
Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to Newcastle, Edinburgh or Glasgow office 1- 2 days per week, with occasional travel to other offices.

We have an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our amazing Tesco Underwriting team, working with all levels of leadership.

Procurement plays a crucial role in our organisation, ensuring we have the right suppliers, contracts, and strategies to support our evolving business. You'll manage the contractual processes including sourcing new third-parties and renewals of existing in compliance with the Procurement & Supplier Management policy and framework to ensure Tesco Underwriting receive appropriate service and value for money.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires strong procurement expertise, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

What you'll be doing
•Aligning procurement activities with Tesco Underwriting strategic objectives.
•Identifying contract requirements and writing specifications for existing contracts and/or new contracts.
•Contract Management. managing the delivery of a major part of our contract management program while taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission-critical contracts.
•Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside of Tesco Underwriting.
•Keeping track of risk parameters, identifying any more deviations and reporting them to senior colleagues.
•Developing stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.
•Supporting the TU Procurement Team with procurement activities, including contract administration, tracking, and reporting to maintain governance and efficiency.
•Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing best value for Tesco Underwriting.
•Consistently track and report on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process.
•Using sound judgement build new and develop existing supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and create greater value across Tesco Underwriting.
•Support the business to achieve compliance with legal, ethical, and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.

We need you to have
•Proven experience of leading RFP process for Tier 1 suppliers.
•Demonstrates experience in Categories: Professional services and Claims supply chain.
•Robust experience in procurement for Underwriting and Claims services.
•Motor / home / personal lines experience is advantageous.
•CIPS qualified or working towards this.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ensuring procurement activities align with our strategic objectives.
•Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.

•Knowledge of Supplier relationship and performance management.
•Securing and deploying resources effectively and efficiently.
•Applying the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
