We're seeking an experiencedProcurement Manager to lead and execute our procurement strategy across both our energy supply business and central functions. In this role, you will drive key initiatives aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, fostering supplier relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance, all within our decentralised procurement model. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting our functional leaders with expert procurement advice while managing a small but dynamic central procurement team.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Develop and execute a procurement strategy tailored to the distinct needs of both our energy supply business and central functions, prioritising sustainable and cost-effective practices.
- Continuously improve procurement policies, processes, and tools, including onboarding, due diligence, and contract management systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Act as the main procurement point of contact for key departments such as IT, Customer Services, and Marketing, offering tailored support to help them achieve their procurement objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong governance processes with critical suppliers to ensure high performance, risk mitigation, and ongoing improvements.
Sourcing & Contracting Oversight
- Lead complex sourcing and contract negotiations, particularly for IT (software) and professional services, ensuring value and efficiency are maximized.
- Collaborate with the Legal team to ensure all contracts meet our legal and risk management standards.
- Oversee supplier due diligence, onboarding, and compliance activities to meet regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
Performance & Reporting
- Define, monitor, and report on key procurement performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities for cost savings and presenting results to senior management.
- Proactively address and resolve performance issues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across procurement functions.
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for a Procurement Manager who is driven, strategic, and ready to make a significant impact on our procurement practices. You'll have extensive experience in procurement, particularly in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. Ideally, you've worked in both central functions and energy-related sectors and will have a strong commercial mindset to your work.
You'll be someone who thrives in collaborative environments, leading by example and guiding teams to success. Your communication skills will be second to none, enabling you to influence stakeholders build key relationships and drive initiatives across the business.

Essentials:
- Extensive procurement experience: Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Commercially savvy: Strong in cost analysis and driving value from supplier relationships.
- Procurement expertise: Skilled in risk management, performance analysis, and implementing procurement best practices.
- Effective communicator: Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.
Desirables:
- Leadership capabilities: Experience managing teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Energy sector knowledge: Familiarity with the energy industry is a bonus, as is an MCIPS qualification.
