We're on the lookout for an exceptional Procurement Manager/Senior Buyer to take ownership of our procurement processes. We are looking for an experienced individual to take on the role of Procurement Manager/Senior Buyer, where you will lead hands-on procurement and buying activities across WJ Group.

Job Description

As the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement and buying activities within WJ. Reporting directly to the CFO you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods required. Your primary focus will be on leveraging your buying skills to secure the best possible deals while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, equipment, and services required.
  • Identify and qualify suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, establishing and maintaining strong relationships to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
  • Take ownership of procurement across the group, driving consistency and best practices.
  • Developing a strategic approach to the purchase of direct and indirect goods/services, leveraging scale opportunities presented by the rapid growth of the group and the integration of acquired businesses.
  • Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for procurement around the Group in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain key supplier relationships and lead on the identification, delivery and reporting of procurement savings following the review and consolidation of the Group's supply chain.
  • Support the development of our new ERP system to ensure P2P related processes are more automated and system level controls are robust. Develop key procurement related MI including supplier spend analysis.
  • Partner with the wider SLT and Board regarding procurement activities to ensure key supplies are procured by the team when needed enabling the efficient delivery of our services to Clients.
  • Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments and work with the Training team to ensure delivery of procurement specific training.

Qualifications

The right candidate should have:

  • CIPS Level 4/5 or equivalent experience.
  • Confident negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to .
  • Experience of managing supplier relationships and internal stakeholders.
  • A proven ability to work in a high-growth environment, be self-driven and navigate well in a multi-site, multi-business Group.

It would be advantageous if you had:

  • Knowledge of IFS or other global ERP systems.
  • Advanced use of MS Office essential and Power BI.
  • Manufacturing or Construction Sector experience.
