Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to spearhead our operational excellence and change management activities in Energy Systems, UK & Ireland. This is a newly established role reporting to both the Finance & Performance Manager and the Global Operational Excellence Lead, while working closely with our UK & Ireland Leadership Team and network of Process Improvement Managers (or what we call internally, Operational Excellence Managers) around the globe.
You will also collaborate closely with our world-leading technical experts, who deliver critical, industry defining projects across the Energy sector, from Oil and Gas, Utilities through to renewables.
As part of the global operational excellence team, you will help us build a global continuous improvement culture and drive step-change improvements in our operational performance, delivering greater value to customers, employees, DNV Energy Systems, and wider society. Through curiosity and creativity, you'll identify new and innovative ways of working, developing and leveraging our Lean Operational Excellence methodology, empowering our teams, and coordinating key improvement initiatives to drive performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Global Operational Excellence Lead to identify, prioritise, and launch improvement pilots across the UK & Ireland
- Provide proactive coaching on Lean management, process improvement, and problem-solving to manager and employee-led improvement pilots and initiatives, and support as required
- Collaborate closely with a global team of Operational Excellence Managers and share lessons learned
- Own and proactively drive Operational Excellence and Change Management initiatives
- Assist in designing, refining and tailoring Lean Operational Excellence, Performance Management, and Change Management concepts
- Develop Lean Operational Excellence learning paths and deliver training (both in-person and virtually)
- Continuous improvement process: leadership & coaching of continuous improvement teams in the selection, prioritization and implementation of operational improvement measures, specifically in relation to commercial/financial systems and processes
- Management of operational excellence projects to increase productivity, reduce cost and improve quality
Ideally based in London or Loughborough, you will be visible and collaborate with teams across all our key offices in UK and Ireland, so the role will require travel and occasional overnight stays. This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead a variety of change projects and support our organisation as we continue to grow and evolve, as part of the Energy transition here in the UK and Ireland.

Qualifications

- Demonstrable experience driving operational improvements and change management initiatives, ideally utilising Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or similar methodologies
- Significant experience gained in a commercial global environment, working with ERP, financial systems, and associated processes
- Evidence of delivering Lean Management and/or Process Improvement coaching (or a strong interest)
- Evidence of delivering continuous improvement coaching to managers and employees, helping them to develop as continuous improvement leaders (or a strong interest)
- Self-motivated, proactive, resilient, and able to cope with high pressure situations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well on your own and as part of both physical and virtual teams
