Newstaff Recruitment Agency in St Albans is currently looking for a Probate Manager for a client based in St Albans.

Probate Manager St Albans

Position: Probate Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (office hours)
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Role Purpose: Manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administrations, including taxable and non-taxable estates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with Partners/Directors and clients through various communication methods.
• Prepare emails and letters for asset and liability valuation.
• Keep executors updated with regular progress reports.
• Prepare Inheritance Tax forms and manage probate applications.
• Liaise with HMRC, HMCTS, and third parties.
• Manage estate accounts and prepare tax returns and beneficiary statements.

Experience Required:

• Strong understanding of probate and estate administration processes.
• Knowledge of will validity and interpretation.
• Ability to handle high-value estates with trust structures.
• Experience in preparing complex estate accounts is desirable.

IT Skills:

• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and CCH Practice Management System.

Qualifications:

• Ideally CTA and/or STEP qualified, or willingness to work towards STEP qualification.
• Alternatively, qualified by experience.
