About the role:

The post holder will be accountable for providing personalized, high-end experiences to Private Clients, host and coordinate high end and rare tastings, events and travel. They will also generate sales through private client visits and recruitment, and act as the embodiment of our Rare portfolio to consumers across Destination Scotland.

You will be responsible for:

• Provide personalized experiences to VIP visitors and private clients; from booking and preparing the spaces to hosting and conducting tastings, and following up with clients

• Have strong product expertise (whisky knowledge) and continuously learn and develop

• Support VIP travel to Scotland: receive requests from the booking system and Private Client Teams (local and global), build Private Client itineraries, oversee bookings via our travel team, arrange all hosting details (welcome letters, sampling liquids, gifting)

• Partly responsible for delivering the luxury capability across all relevant areas of the business and setting up the private client spaces and experiences (at Johnnie Walker and across Scottish Brand Homes)

• Host Private Clients across Scotland Brand Homes, while also identifying new prospects and building partnerships to recruit clients in Edinburgh and across Scotland

• Support in training Brand Home teams on HNWI sales and hosting in order to elevate the standard • Be a Brand Ambassador for the Diageo luxury portfolio either within the setting of private experiences or events

• Manage the ongoing relationship with Private Clients or manage the handover to other Private Client teams, ensure all clients receive necessary confirmation emails, follows ups and data is captured

• Complete opening and closing procedures in a timely and efficient manner

To be successful in this role:

• 5+ years' proven experience in luxury hospitality, food & beverage, and spirits/wine industry

• Strong whisky/industry knowledge and mandarin language skills are mandatory

• Previous VIP client experience is essential

• Brand and category knowledge across Spirits and TBA (total beverage alcohol) with particular experience in process, ingredients, provenance, and trends

• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently with minimal direction

• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment

• Be guided by a customer-first mindset

• Possess a friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality

• Must be flexible with work schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings

• Preferably speaks mandarin, but not a must
