Job Description

The EMEA Client Operations KYC Executive Director will be responsible for the fulfilment of Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) requirements for Private Bank in the EMEA region.

You will partner with the Private Bank client-facing teams to ensure all client KYC records are compliant with regulatory standards, and will ensure high-quality and timely completion of all client-level due diligence requirements at the renewal of client relationships and during the relationship lifetime.

You must have a strong background in leadership management disciplines and relevant operations experience. The candidate must have a proven track record of effective leadership of change and process re-engineering. They will be responsible and accountable for the development of the operating model whilst driving initiatives to enhance the client experience.

You will drive strategic and tactical plans with an ability to anticipate and overcome barriers. They will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute consistently on deliverables and communicate status updates and strategic direction to the wider teams. The incumbent will drive critical thinking, proactively seeking out best practices and understanding client needs, all while ensuring adherence with the standards of the firm and relevant regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with Private Bank client-facing teams to meet all regulatory requirements and internal polices
  • Maintain a governance and reporting structure to ensure objectives are clearly defined, deliverables are documented with associated metrics and all team members are engaged and on track with target deadlines
  • Clear understanding of required legal documents and processes to renew and maintain client relationships
  • Deliver Client Operations process outcomes meeting service levels, quality and control standards
  • Drive successful change and transformation initiatives for the client due diligence process, including coordinating the participation of stakeholders who have KYC responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter resource on KYC / AML policies and procedures and as senior escalation point of contact for issues, discussing and escalating complex issues to Compliance as required
  • Proactive control and risk management, addressing gaps in processes and escalating issues to benefit the business in a dynamic environment

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business or related study
  • Extensive experience within financial services, operational or compliance fields and managing large teams across multiple locations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a "can-do" attitude and passion for driving best practices
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, consultative in approach and understand and anticipate stakeholder needs to proactively deliver solutions
  • Continuous improvement and change management mindset, questioning conventional ways of managing the business and driving change to improve processes
  • Proactive and responsive communicator, maintaining frequent contact with business partners, listening to understand needs, and taking ownership of incoming and outgoing messages
  • Align resources according to business needs and manage individual performance, modelling the desired behaviours and outcomes

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility with ability to drive transformation and results through leadership, people, communication and influence
  • Client Onboarding / AML / KYC / Account Maintenance experience
  • Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders for informed decision-making and risk-taking, ensuring they can be executed from an operations perspective
  • Comfortable with change, ambiguity, debate and conflict
  • Multi-tasker who can manage multiple streams of work concurrently
