We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join us on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. This is your chance to be at the forefront of a programme that not only meets regulatory demands but also pioneers future-facing capabilities through automation.
Reporting to the Head of Privacy Governance and Culture, you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of 15 innovative projects. Working closely with the Privacy Programme Team you will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex schedules and budgets, and ensure that our ambitious goals are met. Your leadership will be crucial in aligning our technology and privacy efforts with our business objectives, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.

About the role
- Lead with Vision: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Royal Mails Privacy Programme (GDPR Phase 3).. Ensure all programme components, resources and teams, including technology and privacy teams, align to target risk, and deliver the strategic vision, and business case objectives. Develop, monitor, and control the programme through delivery to closure, maintaining alignment with Exec and programme sponsors.
- Collaborate and Innovate: Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve seamless integration and successful outcomes.
- Strategize and Execute: Manage programme schedules, budgets, and resource allocation with precision.
- Govern and Protect: Develop and implement governance frameworks that align with business goals and can adapt in an agile way to mitigate emerging data protection risks.
- Transition with Ease: Ensure a smooth transition of solutions into business-as-usual (BAU), maintaining first-class regulatory compliance.
About You
- Experienced Leader: Proven track record in programme management and governance, in data protection or privacy programmes, with a focus on regulated environments.
- Knowledge: Understanding of data protection and privacy compliance, privacy by design principles and enterprise risk management.
- Communicative and Engaging: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. The ability compile and present GDPR Programme Board updates to the EB (Executive Board) including the ability to lead challenging conversations.
- Strategic Thinker: Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to manage large complex projects.
- Organised and Efficient: Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Resourceful Manager: Skilled in managing budgets, tracking variances, and overseeing procurement.
- Communicative and Engaging: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Professional certification in project/program management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMQ) is highly desirable.
