You'll build strong relationships as one of the areas of our a cyber practice with over 450 extremely talented individuals in the UK alone, as part of a UK Technology and Transformation practice of 7500 people. Data privacy is not just a compliance issue, it is a business problem and critical enabler for growth, and we need people with a diverse array of backgrounds and skills sets to help our clients solve the problems they face. Our work includes:
- Defining organisations' current compliance and risk posture; data and privacy strategies; as well as the design and implementation of privacy programs.
- Enabling organisations to understand what data they have, how it moves across the organisation and is shared externally, and the safeguards in place to protect privacy.
- Engineering privacy into the use of new technology and implementing the appropriate privacy enabling capabilities to customer or user facing digital assets.
- Designing effective privacy governance and operating models to assess and define prioritised, risk-based roadmaps to increase privacy maturity, prepare for and support regulatory compliance, and allow privacy to play a key role in business enablement and expansion.
- Providing guidance and support to executives to develop complete and actionable data privacy strategics for the organisations, taking a risk-based approach to support new, digitally enabled business models.
- Designing privacy technology solutions to support process automation or enabling privacy management with technologies that fit an organisation's needs.

We are a team dedicated to ensuring the privacy and safety of our clients' data, comfortable with operating in fast-paced environments defining and leading the development of privacy strategy, privacy programmes and managing privacy risk. We are looking for likeminded individuals who thrive on the challenge of solving the toughest data privacy challenges faced by organisations today. Typically, this will be people with a blend of technical and soft skills that allows them to both analyse the challenges in data privacy but also to communicate to a range of stakeholders from end users and technical specialists through to senior privacy professionals and members of the board.

Successfully applicants typically have a degree or equivalent experience, with experience working in data privacy. They are agile thinkers capable of helping stakeholders manage a range of privacy challenges. They bring an ability to apply a robust understanding of privacy principles and technologies to support clients with varying risk appetite in the pragmatic management of privacy risk.
Data Privacy Skills:
- Strong skills in areas such as privacy strategy, privacy risk, privacy maturity, privacy transformation and regulatory compliance for privacy.
- Practical experience designing processes and tools for data privacy areas such as Privacy Impact Assessment, Data Inventory, Privacy Breach Management, Data Subject Rights, Notice & Policy Management, Consent & Preference Management, Cookie Management, etc.
- Experience of various recognised privacy relevant standards and regulations, such as GDPR, PECR, AI regulation, NIST and ISO.
- Experience working in a variety of environments or organisational contexts to develop privacy strategy and manage privacy risk.
- Experience designing and/or implementing privacy programmes, process improvement, standards and controls.
- Experience performing compliance assessments and gap assessments to identify risks and mitigating actions. Ability to identify areas of improvement in local practices relative to managing data privacy.
- Experience working with or implementing privacy automation solutions e.g. OneTrust, BigID (desirable)
- An understanding of privacy engineering, emerging technologies and embedding of privacy by design principles.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular experience with leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams.
- Desire to work with large organisations trying to solve the latest data privacy problems.
- Relevant certifications, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, OneTrust certificates or an MSc in a related discipline.
Consulting Skills:
- Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think laterally.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including concisely communicating status and creating customer reports and presentations.
- Experience working in or with government, public sector, financial services or private sector organisations.
- Project management - Experience with waterfall and agile type methodologies, often working within client specified frameworks.
- Delivery team management: Working with and managing teams across a mix of locations, cultures, and experience levels, both remotely and face to face.
- Client stakeholder management - Strong communication and relationship skills to manage a variety of client stakeholders from developers, to CISO, to business stakeholder.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
