Principle Program Manager, Launch & Expansion, AMZL EU Launch & Expansion

DESCRIPTION

You will serve as a member of the AMZL Europe Launch and Expansion team, who are responsible for growing Amazon's last mile delivery capability across Europe. Your focus will be on optimization and scalability: Working out how keep our costs down whilst continuing to grow our network and delight our customers over the next 6 years. You'll need to work with multiple teams and a diverse set of stakeholders to identify where, when and how we invest. You'll look at how that investment helps reduce our long-term spend and at the same time improves customer experience. Your work will span new site launches, retrofits, automation, building design, and much more. The actions you drive will have a long-term impact on AMZL Europe.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead a programme of work across AMZL Europe to optimise our investment spend.
• Work with multiple teams to support innovative pilots and then deploy and scale better and more efficient ways of delivering for our customers
• Influence senior stakeholders and managers to get cross-team alignment on approach and outcomes
• Define data-led approaches to outcomes, and set and agree cross-organizational efficiency milestones and goals
• Collaborate with matrixed, cross-functional teams to streamline processes, mechanisms, and align investments. Foster teamwork and partnership to achieve business objectives and ensure efficient operations
• Identify and resolve business-critical and persistent problems
• Define AMZL Europe strategies and structures
• Utilize analytical skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking to innovate on behalf of the business. Take ownership from project inception to completion, including creating and improving reports, discovering technical capabilities, and influencing work processes.

A day in the life
You'll be based in one of our corporate offices and will help organise and direct our efforts to maximize capacity more efficiently and frugally that we have in the past. You'll learn what efficiency and cost-removal opportunities teams across AMZL Europe have identified, and work out how to force multiply their impacts by bringing them together as a coherent programme of work. You'll present your analysis and recommendations to Directors and VPs, and secure alignment across multiple AMZL teams on our goals and supporting projects to help us become more cost-effective over the next six years. You will use a combination of leadership, thought clarity, analytical skills, cross-functional partnership, business judgment, and strategic thinking to innovate on behalf of our customers. You'll be partnering with diverse cross-functional teams to deliver change at the most senior level.

About the team

It's paying attention to the detail whilst also having a really good understanding of the big picture. And this role will plays a big part in making it happen.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery
- Experience in program or project management
