We are looking for a Pre-Construction Manager to join our team in Kilsyth, Scotland supporting a preconstruction opportunity for the development of offshore floating wind turbine foundations. Supporting the Project Director within the BAM joint venture partnership, you will be responsible for developing the delivery strategy, programme, methodology, managing risks and opportunities and costing. You will work with consultants, the supply chain, customers and the internal BAM JV team to achieve this.

Your mission
As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Responsible and accountable to the Project Director for all preconstruction activities.
- Reviewing information received and developing the delivery strategy.
- Managing and coordinating all aspects of preconstruction activities including, estimating, planning, procurement, commercial, quality and governance
- Inputting in to the resource schedule for the opportunity
- Inputting in to the delivery programme and monitoring progress.
- Leading internal and external review meetings, including supply chain and customer engagement.
- Engaging the designers, and supply chain when developing our proposals.
- Oversee and interrogate design option and value engineering solutions in line with the opportunity
- Developing the construction methodology and logistic strategy with the proposed Project Manager.
- Collaborating with the Project Planner and Design Manager in developing the master programme.
- Working closely with estimators and quantity surveyors to develop the commercial strategy.
- Managing the risks and opportunities with the project team in line with best practice.
- Manage and coordinate the BAM preconstruction governance assurance for the opportunity
- Coordinate commercial / engineering reviews as required by the governance assurance procedure
Who are we looking for?
Necessary:
- Degree / HND Qualification in Civil Engineering / Building / Quantity Surveying
- Demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering / Building / Quantity Surveying at Contracts Management / Commercial Management level
- Experience of working in the Pre-Construction Environment
- Experience of bid management
- Good understanding of how to positively influence health and safety.
- Excellent information management and communication skills, with the ability to add value to projects.
- Ability to gain the confidence of all parties involved in the project delivery team.
- Confidence to challenge proposals including construction methodology, sequence, programmes, design solutions and commercial strategies.
- Strong project construction management skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational, commercial, verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of UK Construction market and current best practices.
