Practice Manager - Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 dynamic and forward-thinking full time, Grade 11 Occupational Therapy Practice Managers to be based in the East and the South of the Council.

The role of the Practice Manager is varied, rewarding, and challenging and this is an opportunity for anyone Grade 9 and above, who is qualified as an Occupational Therapist and registered with HCPC. You should have sufficient experience to lead an efficient and effective team of newly qualified and experienced Occupational Therapists and Social Care staff to provide support to an all age newly formed Occupational Therapy service, which includes support for individual's with complex care needs including, children or young adults with a learning disability or autism.

Each Practice Manager will manage the delivery and operation of an occupational therapy team, covering a specific location/area within a defined locality, delivering high quality, cost effective occupational therapy services through effective management, supervision and development of staff, standard setting, and the promotion of joint working with partners and a range of other agencies. Driving continuous service review and improvement to deliver change that improves customer experience, promotes prevention, and achieves budget savings.

You will need to understand the legislative and procedural requirements relating to high-risk situations and ensure that prompt and proportionate responses are determined for meeting needs. You will need to have an understanding of safeguarding adults, mental capacity decisions and an ability to the deal with complaints. You will also need to work as part of a team within the wider Management team in the South and East localities and ensure consistent and effective communication with all Managers. Full support and assistance will be offered but you should be able to demonstrate the ability and the confidence to make decisions independently.

The successful applicants will need to have skills in asset and strengths-based practices, moving and handling processes, and appropriate aids and adaptations to support their Teams to deliver an effective Occupational Therapy service. Each Manager will need to be able to manage change and be adaptable, forward thinking and innovative in their approach to the delivery of services and be able to encourage, support and promote change in this environment. The post holder will be based at one of the sites across Cheshire East to be decided but there may be a necessity to travel to other bases in Macclesfield or Crewe. Cheshire East Council operates a 'flexible and mobile' working policy.
