Are you a dynamic social work leader ready to make a real difference?

We are looking for a Practice Manager (12-month fixed-term) to lead and support permanence planning for children in care. You will provide expert guidance on case formulation, CPRs, sibling and contact planning, and oversee the Agency Decision-Making process.

In this role, you'll ensure early permanence standards are applied from the family group conference stage, track progress using Liquid Logic and My Voice Matters, and build the confidence and skills of frontline staff through coaching and practice development.

You will practise a family-focused approach, seeing families as partners in finding solutions, while leading a team that delivers professional, effective, and outcome-driven social work. You'll manage performance, quality, resources, and budgets, and foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

As a Permanence Practise Manager some of your key tasks include:

  • Quality Assure track and monitor permanence plans for looked after children across the authority.
  • Responsibility for overseeing the agency decision making process for looked after children.
  • Responsibility in the service area for the development and implementation of good evidence-based practice and innovative ways of working, taking research into account.

The people we are looking for in this vital position will have:

  • Held a leadership position within statutory children services
  • Specialist knowledge in this area of work.
  • Communicate effectively in highly charged, complex and challenging circumstances to support professional decision making.
