The Team:

Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects (Infra) team is dedicated to maximizing return on investment and minimizing risks in capital projects. With deep industry expertise, we tackle the most complex business challenges, supporting owners, operators, and contractors throughout every phase. At Alvarez & Marsal, our goal is to reduce uncertainties in project development and operations, delivering solutions that drive greater shareholder value from procurement to execution and asset management.

The role:

As a Practice Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising the daily operations of our fast growing Infra team across Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key strategic partner, collaborate closely with stakeholders, drive operational efficiency, and make significant contributions to business development and client satisfaction. Your role involves managing diverse complex tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the team and fostering an environment conducive to growth and success.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Support:
  • Support the leadership to optimize their schedules, correspondence, and workflow.
  • Proactively anticipate needs and provide solutions before they arise.
  • Manage complex projects and initiatives with independence and initiative.
  • Prepare confidential reports and presentations.
  • Team Support:
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the team ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Manage budgets and expenditures.
  • Onboarding and acting as first point of contact for new joiners.
  • Proactively identify and address challenges, implementing innovative solutions to streamline systems and procedures.
  • Facilitate internal communications, such as scheduling meetings and events, or distributing information.
  • Handle general queries from your team regarding practice related matters.
  • Co-ordinate and organise events such as lunches, meetings, and team socials.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and cultivate strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage high-level client communication and visits.
  • Organise and participate in business development activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Mentorship & Training:
  • Train and mentor junior staff on procedures and best practices.
  • Lead team projects and initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with team members, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Must be organised, detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, constantly prioritising and reassessing tasks.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Salesforce.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with maximum discretion.
  • IOSH qualification desirable.
