Practice Manager (12 Month FTC)

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Practice Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to transition into a permanent position. As the Practice Manager, you will be at the helm of our operations, overseeing the day to day running of the clinic, people management & leadership, ensuring high standards of clinical and client care, while also driving the sustainable profitability of our well-established practice - all with the support of our internal Human Resources team.
You'll collaborate closely with our clinical and support teams and our group Practice Director to ensure the highest standards of care, while also promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture. You'll also work closely with your Practice Director, who looks after ten clinics within the White Cross Vets Group as well as our internal Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
* Act as an ambassador of our culture, values, and employer brand.
* Provide leadership, guidance, development, and regular appraisals to all employees.
* Lead by example, promoting civility, respect, and professional conduct throughout the practice.
* Foster a culture of wellbeing, mental health support, and effective communication to ensure employee engagement.
* Direct line management of our Front of House team.
Management:
* Collaborate with the Senior Vet and Head Nurse to support the practice's financial performance, working towards achieving KPIs outlined in the Business Plan.
* Ensure compliance with all HR, health and safety, GDPR, and financial policies.
* Manage staff rotas and collaborate with the Practice Director to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Human Resources:
* Monitor sickness, annual leave and other absences in collaboration with our internal HR Team.
* Dealing with Employee Relation issues, with the support of the internal people team.
Finance Management:
* Support the team with all aspects of finance management within the practice, including reconciliation, credit control, invoice processing, and insurance claim management.
* Monitor financial performance trends, manage stock levels, and ensure the integrity of the PMS system.
Marketing and Business Development:
* Collaborate with the Area and practice leadership team to plan and promote events such as Complete Wellness Plans, client educational evenings, and open days.
Clinical Standards & Client Service:
* Ensure compliance with the IVC Pricing Policy, RCVS Practice Standards, and legal obligations regarding veterinary medicinal products.
* Work with the clinical teams to maintain high standards of patient care and facilitate appropriate referrals within the IVC network.
* Collaborate with clinical teams to address and resolve client complaints.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving results, coupled with excellent people and leadership skills. A work-life balance that suits you
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we are open to discussing reduced hours or more flexible working arrangements.
