PR Manager (Strata Group)

We are looking for an experienced PR Manager to lead earned media, reputation and fame-building for the Strata Group. An agency collective of specialists built for people and brands on a mission.
This role is responsible for driving visibility, credibility and cultural relevance for the specialist agencies and the group, across trade, mainstream and digital media, while shaping a consistent narrative about who we are, what we do and why it matters.
This is a hands-on role for someone with a proven PR background, strong media relationships, and the confidence to proactively put the agency and its work into the spotlight.
Key Responsibilities
PR & Media Relations
• Own and deliver the agency's PR strategy across trade, mainstream and business media.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors and producers across marketing, business, lifestyle and culture titles.
• Proactively identify and create newsworthy stories around campaigns, talent, innovation, trends and work with internal content manager on thought leadership.
• Write and distribute press releases, opinion pieces, commentary and reactive statements.
• Secure regular coverage that elevates the agency's profile and positions it as a leader in experiential and brand experience.
Fame & Profile-Building Strategy
• Develop a clear, proactive fame strategy for the agency, aligned to business goals and growth priorities.
• Shape consistent agency messaging and narratives across PR, social and owned channels.
• Identify opportunities for leadership visibility including interviews, panels, speaking slots and industry commentary.
• Work closely with senior leadership to position key spokespeople externally.
Social Content & Owned Channels
• Lead the agency's social presence from a PR and reputation perspective.
• Create, commission and publish high-quality social content that amplifies earned coverage, agency thinking and campaign success.
• Ensure social channels support fame, credibility and cultural relevance, not just recruitment or marketing.
• Track performance and optimise content based on reach, engagement and impact.
Awards & Recognition
• Own the agency's awards strategy across UK and international shows (e.g. Campaign, Event Awards, Cannes Lions, D&AD, Marketing Week, PRWeek)
• Identify the right work, categories and narratives to win.
• Write and submit compelling, insight-led award entries.
• Manage submission timelines, stakeholders and budgets.
Internal Collaboration
• Work closely with marketing, creative, strategy, client service and leadership teams to identify stories worth telling
• Educate teams on what makes strong PR and award-worthy work
• Alongside Head of Group Marketing act as a guardian of the agency's external voice and reputation
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
• Proven PR experience within an agency, brand or media-facing role (marketing, creative, experiential, PR or adjacent sectors).
• Strong, demonstrable relationships with UK trade and mainstream media
• Excellent writing skills, press releases, opinion pieces, award entries and social copy
• Strategic thinker who understands how PR, social and earned media drive fame and commercial value.
• Experience creating and managing social content for a brand or agency.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and representing the agency externally.
Desirable
• Experience within experiential marketing, live events, brand experience or integrated agencies.
• Awards writing experience with a strong success rate.
• Understanding of cultural trends, brand storytelling and earned-first thinking.
• Ability to spot news angles quickly and act decisively.
