Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a PR and Public figures relations Manager to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester We have exciting opportunities that is open to anyone wanting an hourly or a 1-year fixed-term contract. In return, you will receive a competitive annual salary of £43,000 depending on your experience. This is a full time in office role.
Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
As PR and Public Figures relations Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in developing and executing strategic public relations initiatives to enhance the organization's image and foster strong relationships with public figures, media outlets, and key stakeholders. This role involves crafting communication strategies, managing media relationships, and producing high-quality content to effectively convey our mission and values. To act as a spokesperson for the organisation and to promote HA's public and online image through seeking opportunities for positive press attention, and mitigate and defend against negative coverage, to safeguard HA's reputation
We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.
Key duties and responsibilities of the PR and Public Figures relations Manager:
- Increase positive media and online coverage for HA and minimise negative press.
- Deliver press and public affairs/campaigns activity to promote the importance of communicate the above our essential work.
- Increase engagement with Public figures and influencers.
- Represent Human Appeal at various events to identify lobbying opportunities for Human Appeal
- Increase public appearances of yourself or other the organisation's spokes people
What we're looking for in our PR and Public Figures relations Manager:
- Ideally degree-educated in a relevant field (Media)
- Previous 2-4 years' experience in media, media strategy
- Experience in using MS Office Suite and social media savvy.
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu are desirable
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector

Our Greatest Achievements Include:
- Safeguarding bright futures for more than 22,000 vulnerable orphans in 9 countries. Our one-to-one sponsorship programme has a built-in school attendance requirement while covering the cost of food, housing, medical care, and learning materials
- Pioneering technologically innovative infrastructure projects in Pakistan, like designing and building a 25-km embankment on the Chenab River in Pakistan. Protecting an entire community from being washed away, the embankment has held back the floods each year, including Pakistan's worst flooding in a decade during its last monsoon season

- Recovering lost livelihoods for vulnerable farmers in Gaza by planting 80,000 olive trees since 1991. The farming project provides each farmer with 30-40 prime olive trees so they can establish a vibrant, sustainable crop that yields not just food but income for generations
- Restoring safe and secure residential spaces in Syria, like the construction of a new town with 1,000 newly constructed homes in Al Zahoor
