About the roleThe critical purpose of the POS Operations Assistant role is to support the Senior POS Operations Manager with the planning, development and project management of all in-store Point of Sale (POS) in line with the customer plan and business objectives, ensuring all POS assets & projects reflect the brand identity & values, and deliver relevant and engaging messaging for customers, subsequently delivering sales growth.
To manage and coordinate all POS requests & briefs via Customer Planning & Campaigns, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide POS recommendations & solutions.
To work in partnership with the ITG POS Team to see all POS projects through from briefing to implementation.

Salary- £35,000.00 - £55,400.00 per annum

Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team attend the office once a week, typically on a Wednesday, to connect and attend key meetings on more of an ad-hoc basis

Key responsibilities:

Project manage and coordinate all in-store POS projects & briefs to deliver the customer plan and objectives, managing deadlines, stakeholders & internal expectations

Work with the ITG POS team to ensure POS projects are delivered to their brief with clear POS assets outlined, bespoke requirements detailed, print timelines managed & budgets set

Support the POS Operations Manager in owning, updating and maintaining all key POS activity across the POS Location Log and Customer Plan, ensuring all relevant teams have clear visibility of which POS assets are live each week and what to expect in stores and on digital screens

Work with ITG and the Creative Team to produce POS solutions that are relevant, innovative, sustainable and aligned to commercial activity, ensuring the Waitrose brand is accurately reflected and lines up to the Waitrose customer experience and communication hierarchy

Attend all key meetings & build strong relationships and foundations with key cross functional teams connected to POS: Content & Creative, Customer Planning, Campaigns, Store Concept Design, Retail, Commercial & Retail Media

Support the delivery of key strategic POS projects (print & digital) ensuring outputs are aligned to the overarching strategic POS principles & frameworks

Work closely with ITG & the relevant teams to drive continuous improvement & ideation across POS solutions, ways of working & processes, applying internal knowledge & insight to create an effective partnership

Manage the approval of assets with relevant stakeholders. Review the creative at every stage of production and manage final sign-off ensuring the design and copy meet the brief requirements

Support the POS Operations Manager with all Retail Media POS requests and queries, ensuring guidelines and frameworks are adhered to and retail media caps are managed tightly and kept in place

Support the POS Operations Manager with the financial management of POS budgets and P&L including planning, forecasting and reporting

Maintain awareness of competitor activity and market trends. Innovate and explore new opportunities and make recommendations for implementation
The successful candidate will have the following skills:

In-Store Marketing: Point of sale and in-store communications subject matter expert: understanding, knowledge and experience of printed POS including end to end production and process management

Project Management: Project management, planning and workflow: strong organisation skills and good at understanding & streamlining processes to effectively manage projects and stakeholders to deliver on time, to budget and brief

Briefing & Attention to Detail: Ability to write clear briefs, capturing key information for copywriters & designers, strong attention to detail and a drive to deliver high levels of accuracy, consistency & brand guardianship.

Commerciality: Demonstrates an innate passion for and understanding of Retail. This includes knowledge of our competitors and the wider social, political and economic factors which impact our business. Understands the Partnership business model and our integrated objectives and uses this understanding to make well informed decisions that support key business objectives

Relationship Building: Understands how to form and sustain both internal and external networks by identifying those of like mind and interest who can support with achievement of business objectives and form lasting relationships
