Montgomery Group are currently looking for a new Portfolio Marketing Manager to the lead on all marketing activities for our vibrant Food, Drink & Hospitality Week, home to some of our most Iconic shows, IFE, IFEM, HRC and The PUB Show.

The Role

You will ensure our marketing plans meet their objectives while staying within budget and on schedule. You'll be responsible for creating engaging visitor campaigns, developing commercial marketing strategies, and overseeing a team of two senior marketing executives and a marketing assistant. Additionally, you'll play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with both our external partners and internal teams.

About You

The ideal candidate is a team player with strong event experience, excellent time management, and organisational skills. You have a keen eye for detail, strong copywriting abilities, and a deep understanding of digital marketing (SEO, PPC). Creativity and a passion for discovering new marketing approaches are essential, as is experience managing external stakeholders. You resonate with Montgomery Group's values, have a keen interest in food and drink trends, and are driven to achieve goals and commercial success.

Role Requirements

  • Strong event experience working on multifaceted campaigns that cover all elements of the marketing mix.
  • Keen eye for detail and strong copywriting skills.
  • Ability to multitask projects throughout the event cycle.
  • Great communication skills and confidence to present to the Group and senior members of staff.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing (SEO, PPC).
  • Experience using digital platforms to build emails and website pages.
  • Experience managing external stakeholders.
  • Performance-driven with a desire to achieve goals and attain commercial success.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Sociable, with a willingness to attend industry networking events.
  • Keen interest in new trends and innovations within the food and drink sector as well as within marketing.
  • A confident individual who is comfortable sharing ideas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Marketing:
    Plan, coordinate, implement, and deliver all marketing communication activities across a portfolio of events. Ensure deadlines are met within budget and aligned with marketing objectives.
  • Visitor Campaigns:
    Manage visitor campaigns and develop high-level strategic plans that incorporate personas and growth metrics to ensure events serve our communities and improve visitor numbers.
  • Commercial Marketing:
    Create, manage, and execute commercial marketing plans to drive sales enquiries, monitor results, and take responsibility for conversion, aligning with the company's value of being ethically commercial.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    Report and analyse event campaigns to gain a deeper understanding of the most effective marketing activities. Make recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Team Management:
    Manage junior staff, providing coaching and support to help them develop their careers.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Work closely with the Portfolio Director, Event Managers, and Marketing Director on all projects. Collaborate with senior staff to ensure all marketing activities align with objectives. Manage relationships with external clients, including designers, print houses, digital agencies, website & registration providers.
  • Media Partnerships:
    Select, liaise with, and onboard media partners to maximise exposure for events and build lasting partnerships that enhance brand awareness and registrations.
  • Budget Management:
    Manage marketing event budgets to ensure spending remains within budget.
  • Training & Development:
    Undertake necessary training to continuously improve performance.

The central London, dog-friendly offices are in a Georgian townhouse, close to Oxford Street & Marylebone High Street with private access to Manchester Square Gardens. Hybrid working is offered to all applicants with a minimum of 3 days in the office, which would be on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Core hours are 9-5pm but flexibility outside these hours will be required to suit the needs of the business.
