What you'll do

Our services investment portfolio represents around a third of our investment spend, consisting of at least 70 programmes, of which 20 are considered to be tier one. That's why you'll make sure the delivery of the programme outcomes and services from the programmes meet strategic objectives.

In your new role, you'll provide investment planning and transformation portfolio and design services, while partnering with a range of stakeholders to make sure an effective pipeline view of investment requirements is maintained, used, and kept under regular review.

It'll also be up to you to:

  • Develop portfolio structures to provide appropriate governance, control and management of programmes and our interdependencies and change standards
  • Conduct regular reviews of the investment portfolio, challenge the status quo, and drive informed decision-making about portfolio priorities
  • Manage the review and approval process of the financial business case
  • Define relevant, timely and accurate management information reporting to assist with the optimisation of strategic investments
  • Drive the decision-making around the resourcing of portfolios in collaboration with senior colleagues

The skills you'll need

To take on this role, you'll need to hold an appropriate portfolio management qualification, such as Prince 2 or Agile. As well as this, you'll have the ability to analyse and challenge data and commentary to understand their root cause. Experience of Planview would also be advantageous.

Furthermore you'll need:

  • Knowledge and experience of portfolio management theories, models and practices
  • Experience of delivering programmes in a global workforce, including working with suppliers and partners in a managed services model
  • Experience of delivering portfolio management in a technology and IT function
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
