Policy Manager, Trust & Safety

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Bumble is looking for a T&S Policy Manager to join the Member Safety team. Reporting to the Head of Safety Policies, the Safety Policy Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and socialising the policies, processes and frameworks that govern safe, inclusive, and respectful behaviour across Bumble Inc platforms. You will build and iterate on principled content, behavior and product policies that balance authentic self-expression with safety and can be enforced consistently and equitably amongst members of our diverse international communities.

You will be skilled at building strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Member Operations, Safety Product, Legal and other cross-functional teams and you will have advanced program management skills, with proven experience of delivering successful outcomes from start to finish, with minimal guidance. You will bring empathy, sound judgement, strong research and analytical skills and prior experience in a policy or technical role at an online platform.

What You'll Do

    • Develop, maintain, and launch safety, integrity and product policies that guide safe, inclusive, and respectful interactions across all Bumble Inc brands.
    • Regularly monitor member feedback, moderation statistics, and integrate quantitative and qualitative data to proactively identify policy needs and opportunities for policy iteration and process optimization.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including member safety partner teams and brand product teams to evaluate the systemic impacts of policy or enforcement changes, carefully balancing risks and benefits to maximize impact.
    • Provide guidance on sensitive, complex cases, adapting and realigning priorities in response to emergent crises and changing business needs.
    • Work closely with Operations, Product and Data Science teams to ensure efficient, scaled operationalisation of relevant policies.
    • Serve as a subject matter authority on safety and integrity policy issues cross functionally.
    • Act as the voice of our members, particularly our members who identify as women.
    • Comfortable reading, viewing, discussing, and writing about potentially disturbing content and subject matter daily (e.g. sexual assault/misconduct, child sexual abuse material, online harassment, non-consensual pornography)

Experience We Are Looking For

    • Experience working in a technology company in content moderation roles, with a preference for prior policy, program management or technical experience.
    • Good understanding of the global safety landscape, including emerging regulation
    • Strong analytical skills, including using data to drive business strategy and decisions.
    • Preferred: Experience working with large datasets, database querying (e.g., SQL) and basic statistical analysis.

About You

    • You have a demonstrated ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
    • You have a demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build consensus amongst stakeholders with different interests.
    • You are flexible, self-motivated, dedicated, and hard-working.
    • You can prioritize effectively and manage competing priorities.
    • You are deeply passionate about Bumble's brand vision and values and have demonstrable commitment to the needs of vulnerable groups
