About the role

We are looking for an individual with detailed knowledge & practical application of the rules and regulations which govern football to join our Liverpool FC team as Head of Player Status and Administration. In this role, you'll be a main point of contact for player status, registrations and administration matters across all age groups including the first team, liaising with football's governing bodies including the Premier League, EFL, FA, FIFA & UEFA.

What will you be doing?

  • Facilitate and deliver the registration and re-engagement of all players (Academy and First Team) in accordance with the regulations of the Premier League, FA, UEFA and FIFA. This will include all player contracts, registrations, loan agreements and transfer documents.
  • Draft and execute player contracts, scholarship agreements, permanent and temporary transfer agreements, agent agreements and related contractual documents.
  • Monitoring and recording player eligibility for all competitions.
  • Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the various football authorities, and that all relevant paperwork, submissions and returns are completed on time.
  • Nominated Club user for the Premier League Player Registration portal.
  • Nominated Club user for the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) ensuring completion of international transfers, ongoing monitoring of player passports and recording club to club payments.
  • Point of contact with agents regarding player/agent contractual queries.
  • Point of contact with Club's Finance department regarding associated financial implications of player transactions including transfer fees, agent commission, levies, training compensation and solidarity contributions.
  • Completion and monitoring of work permit processes for players.
  • Completion of minor applications for players.
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable about all relevant provisions of Premier League Youth Development Rules, FA Agent Regulations and FIFA RSTP as amended from time to time.
  • Manage other player administrative activities as required from time to time.
  • Line Manager of the Academy Football Administrator.
  • Involvement in player administration workflows across the FSG Football function.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will have current, detailed knowledge and practical application of the rules and regulations which govern football including FIFA RSTP, Premier League, EFL and FA Agents Regulations. You will have a good knowledge and understanding of FIFA, Premier League and FA systems to ensure compliance with the rules, regulations and submission processes and will be a skilled user of the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) and Premier League Portal.

You will have demonstrable experience of drafting complex contracts, loan and transfer agreements in relation to player registrations in line with governing bodies' regulations with knowledge of current immigration laws affecting international sportspersons. You'll have an understanding of GDPR as well as an appreciation of an elite sports environment.

Being highly organised and having excellent attention to detail, you can multitask in a fast-paced environment meeting strict deadlines. With your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you can create positive working relationships with stakeholders both internally & externally. You will be fully proficient in English and an additional modern foreign language.
