Platform Engineering Manager - Lead, Build, and Innovate at NewDay

We are looking for a Platform Engineering Manager to join our Data Platform team in London. You will play a crucial role in leading technical experts, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and delivering innovative services that drive business growth. Collaborate closely with teams across Data Engineering, Architecture, Product, and QA to build cloud-based applications on AWS infrastructure and deliver impactful solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and manage a high-performing engineering team, ensuring smooth collaboration with stakeholders across technical and business functions.
• Design, assess, and implement platform solutions, delivering new patterns and optimizations that support NewDay's growth and product innovation.
• Develop and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS tools and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Drive DevOps processes, including continuous integration and deployment to enhance system performance.
• Manage complex, end-to-end projects by identifying risks and dependencies, ensuring timely delivery.
• Build containerized workflows using Kubernetes/EKS and maintain networks using VPC, CloudWatch, and GuardDuty.
• Utilize data streaming tools like Kafka and Snowflake to optimize data pipelines and analytics platforms.
• Work within Agile teams, iterating on processes to ensure continuous improvement and problem-solving.

What You Bring

• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Expertise in AWS cloud environments, with strong knowledge of network infrastructure and security principles.
• Experience with Terraform and DevOps tools, focusing on automation and high-quality engineering processes.
• Strong programming knowledge (e.g., Python) and hands-on experience with ETL processes and streaming analytics.
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics, with experience working in fast-paced, data-centric environments.
• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for troubleshooting and resolving challenges with a focus on improving team efficiency.
