Your new role at NewDay
As the Platform Engineering Manager at NewDay, you will lead a team to design, optimize, and maintain our core technology platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. You'll drive platform strategy, implement best practices in DevOps and CI/CD, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions. This is a key leadership role where you'll foster innovation and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
You'll deliver
- Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers, ensuring high-quality solution delivery and driving continuous improvement aligned with platform strategy.
- Collaborate with technical and business leaders to define and execute the platform engineering roadmap, ensuring it aligns with overall business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance across a broad tech stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Snowflake, Kafka, DBT, Tableau, etc.), supporting the team with complex technical challenges.
- Work with architects and analysts to design, deploy, and optimize infrastructure and data pipelines, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Oversee multiple data engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery and close collaboration with business teams to meet their data needs.
What you'll bring
We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
- Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring platform engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- CI/CD & Automation: Skilled in implementing continuous integration, delivery pipelines, and automation for scalable systems.
- Security & Compliance: Expertise in managing security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI, GDPR).
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, aligning technical solutions with business goals.
And would love you to know or learn:
- Experienced in data and platform engineering, with a proven track record of building scalable SaaS-based systems and managing platform engineering teams.
- Expertise in AWS, Snowflake, CI/CD, streaming/messaging technologies, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with a strong focus on containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI) and a demonstrated ability to deliver secure, reliable solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical teams, ensuring high-quality, data-driven solutions.
