Job Description

We're looking for a proactive and experienced Plant Quality Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of site-based quality control and assurance at our Bolton site. This role is key to maintaining high standards across manufacturing, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site Quality Control systems and batch quality.
  • Lead investigations into product complaints and quality issues using ARC methodology.
  • Drive improvements in distressed batches using CI tools.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 and integrate EMEAI Business Framework.
  • Monitor and report on quality KPIs (e.g. complaints, batch performance).
  • Collaborate with R&D to support new product integration and product transfers.
  • Own and maintain the Site Quality Plan and audit schedules.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee raw material quality checks and documentation (CoA/CoC).
  • Support production teams with problem-solving and training.
  • Lead and develop the site QC team, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Maintain electronic quality records in line with standards.
  • Champion health & safety, ensuring safe systems of work and PPE compliance.
  • Promote a zero-injury culture through safety observations and incident investigations.
  • Work effectively within a matrix structure and adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Operations Management, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Quality certification or license within a quality program or body is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing, including team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and practices.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Experience in problem-solving and leading cross-functional investigations.
  • Confident in auditing processes and reviewing quality reports.
  • Able to interpret regulations and company standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
