We're hiring for a Planning Executive to join our team in London.

Purpose of the Role

As Planning Executive you'll support the planning managers and or/ strategy directors on household name brands being responsible for researching consumer, competitor, and industry trends; identifying the right media platforms that can solve client challenges; and supporting more senior roles in building a full media strategy and plan to deliver growth for our clients.

You'll have the opportunity to work with more senior strategists and planners to devise the right strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve our clients' goals. You will need to efficiently prioritise and manage multiple work streams at once, working both individually and within a team, effectively communicate, and have an ability to continuously self-educate in the ever-evolving digital marketing space. You will have lots of opportunity to work with a wide variety of media partners and platforms.

There is lots of opportunity to learn in the role, you will be provided with training and support from day one from your teams to develop your skills and interests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning Manager/ Strategy Director to interrogate client briefs to understand the challenge we need to solve with our media approach, working with the wider team to develop an integrated cross-channel strategy and media laydowns.
  • Adopt the dentsu planning methodology in coordination of brief responses, cross-media strategies and media plans.
  • Be responsible for media, competitor, and consumer insights collation, providing clear articulation of findings and application in integrated brief response proposals. This will include regular use of our industry tools, both proprietary dentsu and external 3rd party tools e.g. Global Web Index, Similar Web Pro, YouGov, Nielsen.
  • Maintain a high level of working and strategic knowledge across all channels and how they can integrate for best outcomes, staying close to emerging consumer and media trends, and help the team knowledge share on these topics
  • Collaborate closely with dentsu specialist teams (paid social, paid search and programmatic) to ensure optimal use of each marketing channel, and to foster continued learning as channels, platforms and formats develop over time, liaising with media owners and external agency partners where needed.
  • Support the idea generation, cross-functional coordination, and work with the client management community to ensure successful implementation of these campaigns.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Hands on experience in Media Planning or in a cross-channel delivery role.
  • A comprehensive understanding of different marketing capabilities and what they offer the client and customer, including; search, analytics, programmatic, social etc.
  • Experience of insight generation with third party tools.
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel marketing, ensure digital is fully embedded in all initiatives.
  • Experience working with a range of levels of seniority, both internally and externally.
  • Effective communication in both your written work and presentation ability.

What we offer

This is a permanent role. The team is based in our London office but operates under flexible working arrangements. The team are typically in the office twice a week, with flexibility required around client visits.
