Salary - competitive dependant on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

Holiday - 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 28 days)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Tax Semi Senior / Senior in our Leeds office.

We are looking for individuals with initiative to develop their careers and provide a first class service to our clients in both compliance and advisory areas. Working closely with the Partner and Associate Partners, your role will be managing the personal tax process for a portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities of a Personal Tax Semi Senior / Senior will include:

• preparation of personal tax returns for a range of client's such as; sole traders, partnerships, alongside company directors and those with rental income
• preparation of sole trader and partnership tax computations
• preparing forms P11D & P11D(b)
• liaising directly with HMRC in relation to personal tax matters
• maintaining and updating company databases in order to track/ monitor client progress
• checking client records to ensure all information has been received
• ensuring tax efficient use of allowances and reliefs
• preparation of capital gains tax computations for inclusion within self-assessment returns, together with completion of 60-Day CGT Declarations to HMRC
• working closely with clients, other members of the tax team and other departments, including direct contact with the Partners and clients in order to obtain the required information to prepare Self-Assessment Returns

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• ATT qualified or qualified by experience
• at least 2 years' personal taxation experience in an accountancy practice
• experience with MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook and CCH tax software would be advantageous
• able to work independently and as part of a team
• personable and professional approach with clients
• strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• attention to detail
