Role Responsibility

Kent County Council is one of the largest Local Authorities in England. Highways and Transportation is one of the main services in the Growth, Environment and Transport (GET) directorate and look after 5,400 miles of road, receive over 200,000 contacts from customers each year, have over 500 staff and manage an annual budget of over £230 million.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the Business Services team as a Personal Assistant to the Director of Highways and Transportation and Heads of Service.

The role is a fantastic opportunity to help deliver the team vision: to provide the Highways and Transportation services with the support to deliver the business in an efficient way.

It is wide ranging and fast paced; a typical day in the life may include providing a comprehensive Personal Assistant service and managing and organising complex diary appointments, assisting with the preparation for meetings, managing and monitoring Outlook diaries and emails and liaising with external and internal stakeholders including Elected Members, Parishes, Police, other Local Authorities, Partners (i.e. National Highways), Chief Executives, and other administrative tasks.

If you have worked in a similar role or a senior business support role, have knowledge and understanding of local government and the role of a county council, and have experience of liaising with Members, senior officers, and external agencies we would welcome your application.
