This role requires flexibility in location, with the individual supporting Elgin Maltings on-site for reliability facilitation as needed, while performing analysis work from Oban as their primary home site. Additionally, the role includes providing holiday cover and being on-call one week out of every three.

About this role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to collaborate with Leadership Teams, driving key initiatives to enhance business performance. As a Performance Partner, you will work closely with Operations Managers and Senior Operations Managers/Business Leaders to ensure joint accountability for site results and the execution of business unit strategies across various domains, including Health & Safety, Compliance, Production, Financials, Asset Care, and Improvement.

Your role will involve consistently pushing performance boundaries to achieve cost efficiency through Loss and Waste analysis, aligned with Tier 1 and Tier 2 business plans. You will manage stakeholders effectively and work cross-functionally to lead and deliver significant improvement projects. A key aspect of your role will be functioning as a partner to SOM/BLs, leveraging methodologies such as Loss & Waste analysis, RCPS, and DMAIC to drive actionable insights from performance data.

You will coach multidisciplinary teams, including operations and engineering, on troubleshooting tools and Management Excellence (ManEx) practices. Based in Oban and serving as an on-site Duty Manager, you will also support the Maltings, with a focus on improving reliability in Elgin. Your leadership will extend to strategic improvement projects using DMAIC methodologies and ensuring standardization and sustainability of improvements.

You will lead the loss and waste agenda, providing data-driven insights and strategies for prioritizing improvements. Engaging in daily and weekly operational meetings, you will offer experienced analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities. Additionally, you will be responsible for asset care, contractor management, and facilitating the T2 Short Interval Control Process to maintain world-class process control standards. Finally, you will lead CapEx delivery to improve asset performance, ensuring seamless project execution, especially during silent seasons.

About you

The ideal candidate will have demonstratable leadership experience. They'll also hold a NEBOSH qualification, Permit Issuer certification, and a relevant IBD qualification is advantageous (such as the General Certificate in Distilling or Maltings Diploma). Skilled in Six Sigma methodologies, holding Yellow and Green Belt certifications, and can utilise DMAIC and PDCA methodologies effectively.

You have a consistent track record of finding opportunities, developing business cases, and implementing successful change using robust project management techniques.

Experience in a process-driven environment has equipped you with the skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

You are adept at using manufacturing excellence tools like 5S, Lean Six Sigma, and reliability-centered maintenance to drive performance improvements.

Your ability to analyse data enables you to identify loss, waste, and cost-saving opportunities.

You have a solid understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and business drivers.

Experience in a quality-focused FMCG environment is beneficial.
