People Operations Manager

The People Operations Manager is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the employee experience, from onboarding to off-boarding. This position plays a key role in enhancing the employee journey, driving operational efficiency, and supporting HR compliance.
The People Operations Manager ensures that HR processes and systems are optimised, employee data is accurate, and policies are aligned with business goals.
This role requires a blend of operational excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional relationships. You'll be at the heart of the People team, working closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and senior leadership.
You Will:
- Own and improve key people processes such as onboarding, off-boarding, and internal mobility.
- Lead the administration and optimisation of HR systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) to ensure efficient, automated workflows.
- Maintain and update employee records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Develop, document, and maintain HR policies, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company values.
- Identify areas for process automation and operational efficiencies.
- Manage the employee experience, from hiring to exit, ensuring a seamless journey at every stage.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation processes to create a positive first impression for new hires.
- Facilitate employee off-boarding, including exit interviews and knowledge transfer processes.
- Act as the primary administrator for HR tools and platforms, ensuring proper functionality and adoption.
- Track and analyse HR metrics (e.g., turnover, time-to-hire, employee engagement) and prepare reports for senior leadership.
- Maintain compliance with GDPR, data protection, and confidentiality regulations.
- Ensure the company remains compliant with local labor laws and industry best practices.
- Partner with the Legal team to update contracts, policies, and employee handbooks.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and recommend adjustments to internal policies accordingly.
- Collaborate with People Partners and senior leaders to promote initiatives that improve employee satisfaction and well-being.
- Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to ensure an inclusive, welcoming environment for all employees.
- Work closely with People Partners on employee relations issues, offering support and guidance as needed.
- Provide guidance and coaching to line managers and senior leaders on HR best practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, helping them navigate sensitive people-related matters.
- Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across People, Finance, and Legal teams.
You Have:
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or related roles (experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments preferred).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (CIPD certification is a plus).
- HR Systems: Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems (experience with Workday, BambooHR, or similar tools is beneficial).
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of local labor laws and HR compliance standards.
- Data Analytics: Ability to analyse and interpret HR metrics and use data to drive decision-making.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Project Management: Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: A logical, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges.
- Interpersonal Skills: High emotional intelligence, empathy, and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
