Role Summary: At LCCC we sit at the heart of accelerating net zero, and our people are at the heart of our success. The People Operations Manager will take the lead on operational People activities within LCCC to ensure a high standard of service delivery to all stakeholders across the business. The initial focus of the role is stability, continuity and integrity of people data and associated processes as our business continues to scale. The scope of the role covers (not exhaustive) Payroll, Reporting, Reward, policy development and maintenance and facilitation of all operational lifecycle processes. The role is responsible for the HRIS; People First, and the integrity of the data within it. The role will provide strong people management to their team (People Co-ordinator and People MI Analyst) and face out to external suppliers; Payroll, Reward etc. on behalf of LCCC. The role will work closely with the People Business Partners (PBPs) to ensure we offer a high level of service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth running and futureproofing of all people lifecycle processes; onboarding to offboarding, and the integrity of People data that underpins this
- Work with business stakeholders to provide timely, accurate reporting of performance vs. people KPIs
- Systems lead for the People function; ensuring use of our HRIS (People First) is optimised with a focus on creating streamlined, automated ways of working
- Oversee and ensure accuracy of monthly payroll cycle, in partnership with Finance colleagues and our supplier (Midland HR) • Manage core Reward processes; including annual salary review and bonus cycle, salary benchmarking and benefits windows
- Continuously review our reward package to enable talent attraction and retention; working with providers to drive smooth administration and visibility and strong understanding of the offering
- Maintain our suite of People policies; ensuring they are updated in line with legislative changes and market developments
- Drive compliance with our legal obligations around right to work, visas and immigration and gender pay reporting through ongoing audits and improvements
- Effective running of cyclical HR activities such as performance and reward cycles
- Robust management of external suppliers (Payroll, HRIS and benefits); ensuring a high quality, value for money service to our people
- Work to drive innovation and continuous improvement across our People Operations; ensuring knowledge is captured and shared
- Ensure all activities and processes are scalable and are future-proofed to enable ambitious business growth plans
- Coach, mentor and build capability within the People Operations team and wider function
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience of leading operational people activity in a commercially focused, fastpaced business, to include Reward activities
- Ability to 'zoom in and out'; putting in place the checks to ensure people processes run efficiently and effectively and getting into the detail as and when needed
- Highly skilled in use and analysis of data; confident in reporting and use of Excel
- Skills to build and effectively manage relationships across and outside of LCCC
- Results orientated, with good business acumen and strong commercial awareness
- Good knowledge of Payroll, Employee Relations and UK employment law
- Background in managing Reward processes; including salary benchmarking, salary and bonus reviews, benefits enrolment
- Continuous improvement and troubleshooting mindset • Strong people management experience
