Are you an experienced HR professional ready to step into a key business partnering role within a fast-paced, operational environment? Heron Foods is looking for a People Manager to support our Warehouse and Transport functions, based at our Store Support Centre in Melton, near North Ferriby. With a salary of circa £44,500, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a strategic and hands-on role supporting two critical parts of our business.

Working in partnership with operational and training managers, you'll be at the centre of driving people performance, supporting employee relations, and shaping development across our logistics and warehouse operations. What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior managers across Warehouse and Transport, supporting on employee relations, performance, succession planning, and resourcing.
  • Drive and deliver people initiatives aligned to operational KPIs and business strategy.
  • Lead on complex HR casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability matters.
  • Support and coach line managers in day-to-day HR processes and performance management.
  • Work alongside the Training Manager to shape and deliver bespoke training programmes across both functions.
  • Support inductions and mentoring programmes to build capability at all levels.
  • Attend key departmental meetings and contribute valuable HR insight.
  • Support recruitment activity and assist in the delivery of talent and development strategies.
  • Ensure all HR activity is legally compliant, consistent, and reflective of best practice.
  • Produce and maintain regular HR reporting to support data-driven decision making.

We're Looking for Someone With:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 minimum).
  • Proven generalist HR experience, ideally within a warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing setting.
  • A strong working knowledge of employment law.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach-you're happy to "roll your sleeves up".
  • Confidence working with and influencing at all levels of the organisation.
