The Role
People Development Manager
We're looking for a passionate and proactive People Development Manager to shape and deliver a wide range of learning and development experiences across both our UK and global teams-with a key focus on leadership and management development.
In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with the business to consult, advise and lead on impactful development initiatives; designing and delivering team days, workshops, and learning programmes that truly make a difference.
Reporting to the Head of Learning, Development & Wellbeing, you'll play a central role in building a culture of continuous learning at ITV; empowering our people, growing capability, and helping our leaders thrive in a fast-evolving media landscape.
The team
This role sits within ITV's Resourcing and Development team, part of our People function. Our goal is to create a culture of continuous learning where all colleagues have the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours, while helping ITV remain an employer of choice in media.
Responsibilities:
- Design and delivery of a scalable Leader and Management Development offering across the UK and internationally
- Working with HR Business Partners and direct to business to understand the needs of the business and co-create a plan and deliver development, including clear pre and post programme evaluation
- Working with Head of Learning, Development & Wellbeing to gather internal and external data and insights to inform evolution of leadership development strategy and priorities
- Working with key stakeholders to design and deliver team days at every level of the organisation
- Working with external providers to design and deliver development content including measures of success and evaluation
- Working with internal communications to drive comms campaigns, providing base copy and ideas to promote ITVs development offering to our leadership and manager population
- Embed Diversity, Equity & Inclusion into everything we do- from training content to delivery, ensuring learning is inclusive, accessible and impactful.
- Take a hands on approach to create engaging digital learning solutions that improve individual, team and business performance
- Actively balance the needs of ITV and our colleagues, ensuring colleagues are skilled in their work whilst ensuring alignment to ITV's overall strategic priorities
- Actively contributing to a culture of learning at ITV
- Gather, analyse and act upon feedback on the learning experience
- Be agile and responsive to the changing needs of the business and colleagues we serve
- Build relationships with the training providers to ensure that all the programmes we deliver have clear learning objectives and are aligned to our broader leader, manager and all colleague offerings.
- Maintain expertise and continued professional development - using external best practice to develop best in class development interventions
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Proven experience in designing and/or delivering leadership development programmes globally (ideally for senior leader populations), with a preference for design, delivery and measurement
- Understanding of best practice leadership development approaches
- Experience facilitating development programmes and team days at all levels
- A strong track record of partnering and consulting with business and HR stakeholders to design and implement effective learning solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects under pressure, within tight timelines and budgets
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
- Experience designing and delivering content with external providers, including evaluation and success measures
- Experience with digital content tools such as Articulate or other eLearning authoring platforms
- Knowledge of how to run effective virtual workshops, webinars and online classrooms
- Strong communication and presentation skills across all management levels
- Familiarity with assessment tools such as SDI, Hogan and leadership frameworks
- A proactive and methodical approach with strong planning and prioritisation skills
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Resilience and adaptability when working through change and ambiguity
