Salary: Base salary: £40.750-£50,950 depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As a People Development Manager at HS2 you will develop the skills and capabilities within HS2 to ensure we develop confident and competent mangers and leaders and strengthen competencies across our critical capability areas, whilst ensuring we are compliant with all safety, legal and regulatory training requirements.

About the role:

Design, commission and deliver HS2's core learning offer - from mandatory training through to ELT/SLT development to support the delivery of strategic priorities

Project manage specific learning and development projects to meet agreed organisation and/ or Directorate needs

• Deliver the annual TNA process, partnering with directorates to identify and procure required, relevant learning materials aligned to priorities and ensuring they remain within the assigned budget constraints

• Maintain and deliver leadership and management development training, aligned to HS2's leadership framework

• Design & deliver the induction and onboarding process for all new hires within HS2 Ltd

• Identify and arrange Health & Safety, legal and regulatory training for employees

• Design and deliver tools, resources and interventions to support the development of high performing teams

• Develop and deliver competency frameworks for key capabilities, partnering with key directorates to oversee implementation

• Support the development of capabilities and learning pathways to ensure effective delivery of the programme

• Support key capability areas to set up Communities of Practice (COP)

• Support the design and delivery of Capability Development Programmes focusing on key capabilities such as: Project Management, Engineering, Integration and project controls

• Deliver required interventions to support Graduate and Apprenticeship Programmes • Support relevant capability Steering Groups

• Work with the MI and Data Analysts to maintain effective recording and reporting systems and processes for tracking, monitoring and evaluation of employee learning and development

• Keep up to date in latest thinking in blended learning solutions and use of technology and identify how to bring this knowledge to improve the HS2 L&D offer

Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You:

Skills:

• Planning & organisation - the ability to plan and organise workloads to deliver on time and to the quality required

• Portfolio management - the ability to work programmatically to manage a broad portfolio of activities and interventions at any one time

• Communication Skills - the ability to communicate effectively at all levels using a range of methods including briefs, reports and presentations

• Content development & Facilitation Skills - the ability to design and deliver relevant and accessible materials and to deliver workshops and other development interventions

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of best practice, accessible development interventions including blended learning and accessible resources

• Knowledge of learning styles

Type of experience:

• Experience of designing and delivering a wide range of learning and development solutions using a range of methodologies

• Experience of designing and implementing competency frameworks

• Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with internal & external stakeholders including third party suppliers
