The Pension Secretary role

We are seeking a part time Pension Secretary to provide expert governance support to our Trustee Board. In this role, you will ensure effective pension scheme governance, oversee compliance with regulatory standards, and manage trustee communications and activities. This is a vital position within our organisation, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise quarterly trustee and admin sub-committee meetings, including agendas and documentation.
  • Act as the primary contact between the Trustee Board, advisors, and the company on operational matters.
  • Address trustee, member, and advisor queries promptly with technical guidance.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Review funding and investment performance, summarising key insights for trustee consideration.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on the scheme's annual report and statutory compliance.
  • Facilitate the annual trustee board effectiveness review and implement improvements.

Your profile

  • Proven experience as a Pension Scheme Manager or Pension Secretary with in-house expertise.
  • Strong understanding of pension scheme governance, compliance, and trustee responsibilities.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and reliable professional.
  • Relevant certifications in pensions management, governance, or financial services.
