Overall purpose of the job

To oversee the day to day running of the Pension Banking team, completing daily CASS reconciliations and sign off, along with ensuring client money regulations are adhered to. Continuously reviewing existing processes and drive change

The base

You'll be based at our Schroders Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It has high standards and international reputation, without being in the city: a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different. We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham's main line train station.

What you'll do

• Accountability for performance of Pension Banking and ensuring procedures are compliant, efficient, detailed and up to date in line with Client Money regulations.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements related to client money handling.
• Deputise for the Head of Pension Operations where required.
• Participate and act as a reference point for the annual external CASS audit.
• Constantly seek to improve operations, reviewing and challenging inefficient processes
• Detailed understanding of multiple processes across operations
• Active participation and contribution in management meetings
• Setting goals and managing quarterly documented one to ones
• Review and authorised standard operational tasks within the team
• Report and present accurate MI
• Manage both internal and external escalation
• Daily CASS reconciliation process and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensuring that all payments are matched and allocated in accordance with CASS regulations.
• Attend quarterly CASS Committee meetings
• Monthly CMAR Reporting
• Capacity planning
• HSBC Liaison

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Investment Management Certification/studying towards
• CISI Client Money & Assets/studying towards
• Minimum of 3 years Investment Platform/Pension experience at manager/team Leader/senior associate level
• Accurate with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Outstanding numeracy and literacy skills
• Confident user of Microsoft word and Microsoft excel.
